Why couldn't they find experienced-yet-fresh designers within their price range? Why was it so difficult to work with larger agencies? And why couldn't vendors help teach them, not just sell them, design?

We began asking the same questions ourselves. Then we formed a new kind of company to start finding the answers.

projekt202 is a consortium of industry-leading designers, user-experience experts and front-end developers united to bring a new degree of usability and possibility to software design.

Headquartered in Austin, Texas, we’re forging a new trail in the software industry: implementable, adaptable and sale-able designs borne of a genuine desire to help the user. Too many interfaces out there mask underlying usability problems with a pretty face. Our creations do more than look good; they have the sizzle and the steak.

We're small, attentive, private and proud.

We don't rest at night unless we give each of our clients the right level of attention. Because we like to sleep, we keep our client base small. We work so closely with our clients, it's like we become one of them. And, evidently, we do something right, because they keep coming back.

In a nutshell, here's our strategy:

• We focus only on what we do best – simple-to-use and easy-to-look at user-interface design, and the supplemental services to achieve it.
• We're selective with whom we work. Our goal is to find companies whose eagerness for improvement complements our own.
• We take pride in our work, and hire only the best and most committed employees.
• We reward dedication, in our staff and in our clients.
• We keep overhead low and our costs reasonable.
• We devote as much attention to increasing customer satisfaction and improving the efficiency of our process as we do fiddling with design.

P.S. What's with the handle?

You may wonder about our name. Let's just say it has insight from our executive team, reflects our theory of design, was a “project” in itself, throws in a German twist, and is probably best left for a discussion over a beer, coffee or both.
